Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a three-alarm fire that heavily damaged an apartment building in Bloomfield on Monday night.

The fire was reported shortly before 9:45 p.m. in the 4100 block of Main Street, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials.

The fire quickly was raised to three alarms to summon more personnel to the scene. All of the residents in the building were able to evacuate safely and no injuries were reported.

The fire spread to both sides of the building and extended to an adjacent structure before it was estinquished, officials said.

The fire bureau’s investigation unit is working to determine the cause of the fire.
