The annual Fall in the Wall celebration in Aspinwall returns Oct. 8. Ellery Roth, then 2, danced in the pumpkin patch while attending with her mother Hannah Wirginis Roth in 2019.

Aspinwall’s annual autumn celebration returns with some new activities and food trucks to compliment its traditional fall feel.

The Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce presents Fall in the Wall from 3-6 p.m. on Oct. 8.

Brilliant Avenue from First Street to Freeport Road, and Commercial Avenue will be closed for the event. Admission is free.

Organizer Jennifer Jackson said some of the new attractions include a fire truck bounce house with a basketball hoop, slide and climbing wall.

Hermes Food will provide carnival favorites such as funnel cakes, gyros and pitas. Delina’s EthioCafe coffee truck features Ethiopian coffee.

Other activities include face painting, airbrush tattoos, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, balloon twisting, an obstacle course, magicians, music and crafts.

Chamber Executive Director Giuseppe Francioni said he believes this year’s event will be a big draw for families should the rain stay away.

“If we have good weather, there will be 1,000 munchkins running all over the place,” he said. “It’s basically youth, kid-focused. Over the years, when the weather’s nice, it’s one of the most pleasant little scenes to be involved in.”

Borough Manager Melissa O’Malley said everyone is excited for the event.

“The Fall in the Wall event sponsored by the Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce is the official start of fall in Aspinwall,” she said via email. “It’s a great event for kids of all ages the music, pumpkins, inflatable obstacle course and entertainment make it a ‘to do’ event each October.”

Lucky Sign Spirits will have samples of its adult beverages.
