Aspinwall Police Department to add activities to Friday's Movies in the Park
People who participate in Aspinwall’s Movies in the Park series will have an opportunity for a couple pre-show activities with borough police.
A bike ride is planned for 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Aspinwall Recreation Area near Ben Killian Field.
Bicyclists will ride with officers throughout the borough and return to the park along Field Avenue for Pizza with the Police at 8 p.m.
The film — “Space Jam: A New Legacy” — starts at 8:30 p.m.
It’s all presented by the police department and Mayor Joe Noro.
“This was a planned event and probably the most popular last year,” Noro said. “It gives our residents and the kids in town a chance to know our officers and officers from the other communities around us a lot better.
“This is all about community policing.”
This month’s selection is “Space Jam: A New Legacy” features NBA star LeBron James.
It is the Warner Bros. Pictures’ successor to the 1996 “Space Jam” movie staring NBA legend Michael Jordan.
There are three more films scheduled for this summer’s series including Disney’s “Encanto” on Aug. 12, “The Mitchells vs. the Machines” on Sept. 2 and “The Addams Family 2” on Oct. 7.
