Blawnox festivities help welcome the holiday season

People jammed the sidewalks along Freeport Road in Blawnox on Dec. 2 for the borough’s Night of Lights to welcome the holiday season.

Santa cruises along Freeport Road during Blawnox’s Night of Lights on Dec. 2. He was a guest at the lighting of the borough Christmas Tree at the Veterans War Memorial at Freeport Road and North Avenue.

Blawnox hosted a day-long celebration on Dec. 2 to celebrate the holiday season.

The annual Best of Blawnox Cookie Tour kicked off events. More than 20 vendors signed up for cookie sampling and giveaways. Families decorated ornaments to put on the borough tree or could take them home.

Santa arrived just in time at the Veterans War Memorial at Freeport Road and North Avenue to light the Christmas tree.

Festivities continued at the Hoboken Presbyterian Church along North Avenue with face painting, temporary tattoos, a balloon artist and of course, more cookies.
