Dress for Success schedules cookie fundraiser at Hartwood Acres
Dress for Success Pittsburgh is hosting its second annual Black & Gold Cookie Table Drive-thru Fundraiser on May 14 at Hartwood Acres, 4000 Middle Road from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Last year, we turned our traditional Black & Gold fundraiser into a socially-distant, safe, drive-through event that proved to be not only incredibly popular, but so much fun,” said Tanya Vokes, CEO of Dress for Success Pittsburgh. “We love Pittsburgh’s rich history of wedding cookie tables, so we put that passion to work by raising important funds to support and empower women entering and returning to the workforce across the region.”
Guests are invited to wear their favorite black and gold outfits. The kid- and pet-friendly day includes a cookie scavenger hunt, the tunes of DJ
Jess, food trucks, and shopping at Magnolia on Main’s mobile boutique. Participants can bring a picnic blanket, relax, and indulge in a box of cookies from the local woman-owned-and-operated bakery, The little Kitchen.
The presenting sponsor is Knichel Logistics, Inc, a woman-owned-and-operated logistics provider. Company President Kristy Knichel said that “supporting Dress for Success Pittsburgh and their mission of empowering women who are entering or returning to the workforce is important to me personally and professionally — for the success of my company. We want to see more successful working women, particularly in fields that have been traditionally dominated by men. Women bring a unique voice and incredible talents to the workforce.”
Tickets are available to purchase online at $100 per vehicle, which includes drive-thru admission, one box of two dozen cookies, one raffle entry, which includes a chance to win 4 tickets to the Black & Gold Gala at the Westin Pittsburgh on Nov. 5.
Additional boxes of cookies are available for a $50 a box.
All cookies are nut free, gluten options are also available.
Online ticket sales are available at https://dfspgh.salsalabs.org/BlackGoldCookieTableDrivethru through May 13.
