Fourteen Fox Chapel Area High School students participated in the third annual Allegheny County Chorus Festival: seniors Daniel DeMotte, Maggie Jones, Benjamin Shuttleworth and Robert Svenson; juniors Cascie Banachoski, Aubrielle Cheatham, Evangeline Sereno and Emma Smith; and sophomores Anita Fava, Sophia Geraci, Kassidy Joyce, Abigail Ornelas Barajas, Addison Smith and Margot Walter.

Approximately 200 students were selected by their directors to perform with the chorus. The festival was held Oct. 15 at Gateway High School, and the students were directed by four area choir directors.

Two Fox Chapel Area High School students placed at the annual Western Pennsylvania Novice Speech and Debate Tournament. The team of sophomores Carter Fincher and Amelia Tedesco won third place overall in Parliamentary Debate. The tournament was held at Peters Township High School on Oct. 25. A total of 241 students representing 15 public, private and charter high schools from across the region participated in the competition.

Fox Chapel Area High School senior Ori Goldin won the Outstanding Delegate award (equivalent to second place) at the 14th annual Riverview Model UN Conference. Approximately 160 students from 12 schools participated in the Riverview Model UN Conference, held Oct. 13 at Riverview High School in Oakmont.

The purpose of the Model UN conference is to enable students to role-play and simulate the countries in the UN. As a part of the conference, students debate and try to solve global problems from the perspectives of other countries.

Six Fox Chapel Area High School students had their artwork selected for the Slippery Rock University Art Department 2025 Juried High School Art Exhibition. The students are seniors Adele Grady, Nora Kelley, Emma Kuhns and Samantha Van Kirk; junior Rylie Graham; and sophomore Troy White.

The exhibition can be viewed through Nov. 20 at the Martha Gault Art Gallery at Slippery Rock University. A closing reception and awards ceremony will be held Nov. 20 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the gallery.
