Get your game on, teens in the Lower Valley.

For one week, July 8-12, youngsters can enroll in a free hands-on summer camp to learn the ins and outs of gaming design.

Presented by the Pittsburgh International Game Developers Association and Global Game Jam Next, field experts will deliver tips on storytelling, graphics and mechanics.

The sessions are sponsored by the Triboro Ecodistrict and are available for teen ages 12 to 18. They will be hosted at Sharpsburg Community Library, 1212 Main Street.

During the noon to 4 p.m. “lunch-and-learn” classes, teens will be connected to a network of creators around the globe.

The aim is to empower youth to build video games, deepen tech fluency and encourage civic making. The intensive camp meets four hours a day and participants are expected to attend five consecutive days.

Preference will be given to students in the Triboro of Sharpsburg, Millvale and Etna but admission is open to the Fox Chapel and Shaler Area school districts.

Registration is at bit.ly/TriboroVGDI.
