O’Hara Township police Superintendent Jay Davis and members of the department will host Coffee and Cocca with the Cops, Plus a Movie Event at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Lauri Ann West Community Center. People can meet their police officers and have photos taken with them. Officers will bring along fun things for kids.
The movie, “DC League of Super Pets” begins at 7 p.m.

Senior citizens residing in the Fox Chapel Area School District can attend a dress rehearsal of the spring musical, “Guys and Dolls” at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Fox Chapel Area High School auditorium. Refreshments will be served in the auditorium lobby at 3 p.m. prior to the performance.
The special performance/dress rehearsal is free for all Fox Chapel Area School District senior citizens age 60 and older.

A long-time employee of the McDonald’s restaurant at 907 Freeport Road was honored for decades of service.
Neil Shamitis, a first assistant at the McDonald’s has worked under the Golden Arches for 35 years.
“Neil brings the energy to our Fox Chapel location with his dedicated and hardworking personality. Customers love coming in and seeing Neil,” said McDonald’s Owner/Operator Michael Delligatti.
McDonald’s of Fox Chapel is a part of M&J Management, a family-owned McDonald’s franchise in Western Pennsylvania. Members of the family business recognized Shamitis during a companywide celebration late last year.

Nomination petitions are available online and in the office of the Allegheny County Elections Division in the county courthouse Downtown for candidates seeking to run in the May 16 municipal primary.
Petitions, along with instructions, are available online at http://alleghenycounty.us/elections/nomination-petitions.aspx.
Among the positions on the ballot are borough mayor and council and township commissioner and supervisors.
March 7 is the last day to circulate and file nomination petitions.
