Blawnox Easter Egg hunt
The Best of Blawnox hosts its annual Easter egg hunt April 10 from 1-3 p.m. at Blawnox Community Park on Center Avenue.
The free, family-friendly event will feature games, refreshments, balloon art, refreshments and cookie decorating.
The Easter egg hunt is sponsored in conjunction with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.
Funnel Cakes for Ukraine
Sharpsburg Aspinwall Rotary hosts Funnel Cakes April 8 for Ukraine from 5-8 p.m. at Kennedy Park.
Various foods and drinks will be up for sale to help the people in the war-torn country.
Proceeds will go to ShelterBox USA, a nonprofit that delivers essential aid to help rebuild communities.
Items at the event include funnel cakes $6, fried dough $6, pierogie six pack for $4, quarter pound hotdogs for $4 and drinks for $1.50.
Other fundraising activities include 50/50 raffles.

Trillium plant sale
The Trillium Garden Club will conduct its annual plant sale on May 14 at O’Hara Community Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Annuals, perennials, herbs, hanging baskets and vegetable plants will be available for purchase.
Credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted.
The club is also raffling off a watercolor painting on the day of the plant sale.
Kayaking
Sharpsburg Council unanimously approved a kayak concession rental recently at the James Sharp Landing.
The outdoors nonprofit Venture Outdoors will locate a Kayak Pittsburgh rental site for a one-year pilot program.
The pilot program includes kayak and fishing rentals five days a week as well as programs for local children, seniors and the general public, said Valerie Beichner, president, and CEO of Venture Outdoors.
Programs will include Sunrise Paddles; Twilight Paddles; Mature Monday Paddles; Trianglers Fishing; Beginner Paddles and more.
Sharpsburg residents will receive a 15% discount on all rentals.
