Trash can swaps
Two communities are offering their residents an opportunity to swap out their garbage cans for different sizes.
Sharpsburg residents who need to swap out their garbage cans for smaller or larger sizes can do so for free through the borough’s public works department through July 1.
Swaps after that will cost $100 and go through the trash hauler, Waste Management.
O’Hara residents needing to swap out their trash carts for larger or smaller sizes can do so for free through the township through June 30. After that, Waste Management will charge $100 to swap out a cart.

Juneteenth Celebration
Juneteenth Sharpsburg will host the annual FC Area Juneteenth Celebration on June 24 from 4-8 p.m. at Kennedy Park on North Canal Street in Sharpsburg.
The family friendly event offers food, music and activities.
Blawnox Night Out
The Best of Blawnox is sponsoring National Night Out on Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m. in Blawnox Community Park
The event provides an opportunity to meet first responders. Vendors will be present. There will be food and light refreshment.
Aspinwall Night Out
Aspinwall Neighbors is hosting Aspinwall’s Big Night Out on Aug. 10 from 6-9 p.m. at Ben Killian Field at the Aspinwall Recreation Area along Field Avenue.
There will be live music, food and beverage samples, plus vendors and activities.
