The Trillium Garden Club will have its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 6 at O’Hara Township Park.
A selection of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, unique selections and multi-plant patio pots will be on sale.
The second annual members raffle will showcase crafted items. Proceeds from the sale benefit community projects such as the community gardens of Blawnox, Aspinwall, Sharpsburg, Camp Guyasuta, Beechwood Farms and the township park

Sharpsburg officials have hired Carnegie Mellon University graduate student Saul Bezner as their Local Government Academy intern.
Borough Manager Christine DeRunk said Bezner was selected out of seven candidates, and will work on Sharpsburg’s five-year capital improvement plan.
He starts May 30 and will work a total of 400 hours throughout the next several months. A completion date has not been set.
Estimated compensation is $12 per hour with Sharpsburg covering half the cost.

O’Hara officials are replacing the lights and lighting fixtures in the township building with LED lights.
Manager Julie Jakubec said the project is through a Duquesne Light program and costs about $2,796.
She said the township saved $20,786 with the program compared to a retail light price of $23,582.
The goal of the replacement project is to provide better environment-friendly lighting and save money on electric charges.

Earth Day cleanup in Sharpsburg is set for 9 a.m. to noon April 22.
Volunteers can pick up supplies and breakfast at the borough building, 1611 Main St.

Crisis Center North’s signature fundraiser, Cocktails & Cuisine will be May 12 at The Woodlands, 134 Shenot Rd., Bradford Woods
The outdoor food tasting event marks its 16th year. It helps to raise funds so that CCN can provide essential services for the victims of domestic violence.
Individual early bird event tickets are $100 through April 30 and include a wine or beer glass, as well as free parking with shuttle service to the venue. Regular admission will be $125 as of May 1. A Friend of CCN ticket package of $300 includes two tickets and lower lot parking. Exclusive Front Row Parking on The Woodlands grounds is available for purchase at $60 or Lower Lot Parking at $30 while supplies last.

Cooper-Siegel Community Library hosts its Teen After Hours program from 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 21 at 403 Fox Chapel Road.
It is scheduled for every third Friday of the month during the school year.
There will be pizza and snacks, video games, karaoke and other games available.
It is open to sixth through 12th graders.
The library hosts From Your Attic to the Archives, an adult history program, from 7-8:30 p.m. April 25 in the Verne C. Koch Program Room.
Oakmont librarian Stephanie Zimble will deliver a presentation on preserving family and local history materials, as well as lead a discussion on different kinds of materials people might have in their homes and ways to store, protect and access them.
Registration for the event closes April 24.
