The Aspinwall Recreational Field and dog park was fertilized by landscapers.
Officials said some residents are concerned about the fertilizing pellets that were used on the fields and green spaces. Borough Manager Melissa Lang-O’Malley said it is nontoxic and pet-friendly fertilizer.

Libraries suspend in-person services
Cooper-Siegel Community Library and Sharpsburg Community Library have suspended all in-person services until further notice.
Both locations are providing curbside service, so community members can still have access to books, audiobooks, video games, Wi-Fi hotspots, magazines and DVDs as needed.
Harvest Fair paused
The appointment-only Harvest Fair at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church is on hold for the next few weeks because of the new Allegheny County covid-19 guidelines.

The Allegheny Valley Chapter of Women’s Business Network meets at 8 a.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Gold Shield Professional Building, 817 Main St., Sharpsburg.
