Cook-off

Roots of Faith in Sharpsburg is sponsoring a one-pot cook-off from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on June 17 at the church, located at 800 Main Street in the borough.

Cooks prepare their best one-pot meal for a panel of guest judges and compete for awards, prizes, games and gift baskets. There is a $15 fundraising donation.

Roots of Faith is an offshoot of Faith United Methodist Church in Fox Chapel.

Volunteers wanted

Volunteer are wanted for Blawnox’s Centennial committee.

The committee will plan celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the borough, September 2025.

Chess available

The Aspinwall Chess Club hosts Chess in the Park from 6-8 p.m. June 21 and 28 at Fireman’s Memorial Park, 101 W. 8th St.

Beginners and experienced players are welcome, and they can bring their own sets.

Other Chess in the Park dates are July, 12, 19 and 26 and Aug. 2 all at the aforementioned time.

Pizza with the police

O’Hara hosts Pizza with the Police from 6-8 p.m. June 22 at the O’Hara Community Park Shelter No. 2.

Come grab a slice and meet township officers. Their vehicles and equipment will be on display as well.

Parkview EMS will also be on site to check car seat installations.

Trash cart swaps

O’Hara residents needing to swap out their trash carts to larger or smaller sizes can do so for free through the township through June 30.

Waste Management will charge $100 to swap out a cart after that date.

Call the township office at 412-782-1400 to swap out a trash cart.
