Nine Fox Chapel Area High School seniors have been named National Merit Finalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.

They are: Elijah Conklin, Aiden Dorneich, Arjun Golla, Lawrence Liu, Silas Owens, Mahitha Ramachandran, Arvind Seshan, Dylan Srodes, and Ethan Tan.

Finalists are chosen based on their Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test scores and other factors, including SAT and/or ACT scores, a student essay, a school recommendation, and having an outstanding academic record throughout high school.

The finalists represent less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school seniors and compete for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million.
