The Republican Party of Pennsylvania has appointed Lori Hardiman to serve as a Republican National Committeewoman.
Hardiman, of Fox Chapel, replaces Indiana County’s Christine Toretti on the national committee. Toretti, who became a national GOP committeewoman in 1997, stepped down after being confirmed as ambassador to Sweden in September.
Hardiman is an attorney who serves as vice president and general counsel of The First City Company, a commercial and residential real estate firm.
“I look forward to working with our leadership and grassroots activists across the commonwealth to strengthen our party and deliver real results for all Pennsylvanians,” Hardiman said in a statement.
She did not return messages.
“(Hardiman) is a proven leader, accomplished attorney and successful businesswoman with a long record of leadership and success in everything she does. She has made her mark in the commonwealth because of her integrity and work ethic. We are excited to have her as an advocate for Pennsylvania and our party,” said Pennsylvania GOP Chairman Greg Rothman, who also serves as a Republican National Committeeman along with Andy Reilly of Bucks County.
U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Squirrel Hill, described Hardiman as an “accomplished attorney and businesswoman, a strong conservative, a trusted adviser and friend” who has “established herself as an effective and strong Republican leader in southwestern Pennsylvania.”
In February, McCormick named Hardiman to chair a regional commission tasked with recommending U.S. attorney and marshal candidates to fill vacancies in Pennsylvania’s Western District.
