Police: 3 people wanted for using stolen credit cards for $18K in purchases at Ross Park Mall

Fox Chapel Police said two men and a woman are accused of stealing credit cards from cars parked at the Pittsburgh Field Club in the borough and going on an expensive spending spree at a local mall.

Sgt. Craig Sorg said officers on Aug. 4 were still trying to identify the team of thieves who wore golf attire, sneaked into the club’s parking lot and took the cards from unlocked cars between 10-11 a.m. on July 30. Police said the thieves did not enter the clubhouse.

He said the suspects used the stolen cards that day at Ross Park Mall in Ross and bought $18,000 worth of Louis Vuitton products. The men are both seen wearing hats and the woman is wearing a black head covering and big, black sunglasses.

Sorg said the trio also went to an Apple store and tried to buy another $7,500 worth of products, but that purchase was declined.

The thieves rode in a black, newer edition Ford Expedition. Surveillance video shows the SUV with Pennsylvania plates, but police reported the vehicle was a rental car registered in Florida.

The Field Club had no comment Thursday night.

Fox Chapel police remind residents and visitors to be careful with their valuables.

“We ask people lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of site,” Sorg said.
