A private, 17-acre estate at 121 Hidden Ridge is listed for $2.2 million in Indiana Township.

The address is the first indication of what’s in store for the next owner of an ultra-private, harmonious-with-nature estate in Indiana Township. The long, paved driveway leading up to 121 Hidden Ridge reveals just that, a custom home with a stunning ridge view of rolling fields and woods.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is modern, secluded and has more than 4,000 square feet of living space, offering sweeping views of the grounds that border Hartwood Acres Park.

The property is a weeks-old listing with an asking price of $2.2 million by luxury specialist Realtor Colleen Steigerwalt of Howard Hanna.

Steigerwalt has shown the home steadily and described it as a one-of-a-kind residence.

“Whether you’re seeking peace, creativity or adventure, this estate delivers a lifestyle of comfort, privacy and possibilities just minutes from Pittsburgh’s urban core,” said Steigerwalt during a recent tour of the home.

The house was originally constructed in the 1950s but had an extensive remodel during the 1990s and features modern upgrades, including automated blinds, outdoor water fountains, natural gas, city water, a back-up generator, a whole-house filtration system and new septic and water lines.

The property is split across 10-acre and seven-acre parcels in Fox Chapel Area School District.

Resort-like amenities include an outside shower and sauna, fenced-in dog pen, studio, custom cabinetry, scenic views, multiple patios and a whole-house sound system.

“A standout feature is the second-floor studio. This offers flexible space ideal for a guest suite, creative studio or home office,” Steigerwalt said.

Homeowner John Krena said living at Hidden Ridge has provided a lifestyle that leaves him with cherished memories.

“Living here has been a true gift,” Krena said. “Surrounded by nature, enjoying peaceful privacy — yet just 30 minutes from Shadyside and Downtown Pittsburgh.”

Hartwood Acres Park, with more than 620 acres, is accessible from the property. And with room to build a barn on the 17-acre spread, equestrian enthusiasts have been drawn to the property.

“The property offers the unique ability to ride directly into Hartwood Acres Park,” Steigerwalt said.
