Sharpsburg Community Library chili cook-off rescheduled
Sharpsburg Community Library’s Robert “Snakeguy” Habegger Chili Cook-off has been rescheduled.
It is now set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at the borough building, 1611 Main St.
Organizers rescheduled it from its original Friday date because of Lent.
People still can register as taste testers via the library website at coopersiegel.librarycalendar.com.
There are two time slots for tasting: 5 to 5:45 p.m. and 6 to 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $15.
All proceeds will benefit the library.
The inaugural cook-off was in 2018. The contest was canceled the past four years because of the pandemic.
It was renamed this year in memory of Habegger, the impassioned volunteer known for his homemade pepper spices, and who trained a 5-foot leucistic rat snake named Popeye.
