Sharpsburg police station reopened Monday to walk-ins, after nearly three months closed for coronavirus-related concerns.
Mayor Matt Rudzki said reopening the station along Main Street coincides with Allegheny County moving into the green phase on June 5 and is part of the borough’s overall steps to reopening.
Parking meter enforcement also began Monday, he said.
Visitors to the department are asked to wear a mask and abide by proper social distancing guidelines.
“Being able to reopen is a testament to everyone who did their part to slow the spread of covid-19 and flatten the curve,” he said. “Please remember the coronavirus remains extremely contagious and deadly, and we must continue to be responsible and follow Department of Health and CDC guidance.”
Street sweeping enforcement begins June 15.
Aspinwall police said their department began ticketing for street sweeping and meter parking Monday.
Officials suggested parking in the borough’s municipal lot along Commercial Avenue or by the ball field in the event that spaces are unavailable on the street.
Streets are posted with sweeping days and times.
