Snow much fun in Fox Chapel area
Fox Chapel Area School District residents woke up to a winter wonderland on Dec. 2 as the district held a virtual instruction day for its students.
It was the first snow event for the area and more than three inches of snow fell in the Fox Chapel area.
The wet, heavy snow made for perfect snowball-making conditions for friends Benny Masters and Charlie Corr, both of Aspinwall.
The duo played along Fourth St. as Corr’s mom, Cherelle Wilkins, supervised, and occasionally took a snowball or two her way.
“This street always had a lot of kids out playing,” Wilkins said. “We wanted to play in the snow before we had to go in and log in for school.”
Over on Springhouse Lane in Fox Chapel, resident John Horn was down to business using a snowblower to clear his large driveway.
“I love the snow,” Horn said.
O’Hara resident Matt Pavlovich took his Chow Chow dog, named Oliver, on a snowy walk.
“He’s made for this weather. He has four-wheel drive,” Pavlovich joked of his furry dog’s love of the cold and snow.
