Indiana Township home on market for $8 million

An Italian villa built in 2007 and perched high atop a hill in Indiana Township is on the market for $8 million.

The six-bedroom mansion includes six full and two half bathrooms, a 70-foot pool and 9,000-bottle wine cellar.

Fox Chapel Area teen developing app to detect x-ray abnormalities

Fox Chapel Area freshman Adhitya Thirumala was just 12 years old while developing an app to detect x-ray abnormalities. The project went on to win him the honor of being among the Top 300 middle school innovators from across the country in the 2020 Broadcom MASTERS, a prestigious STEM competition.

There were 3,476 applicants.

Grants support conservation in O’Hara, Shaler, others

O’Hara will share $795,000 of grants from the Allegheny County Gaming Economic Development and Tourism program.

The money will assist a sewer project in O’Hara and elsewhere, it will help the Allegheny Land Trust to buy four Millvale properties for the Girty’s Woods Conservation Project.

Sharpsburg sewer project expects to ease overflows

Sewer separation work in Sharpsburg is aimed at alleviating backups in basements that happen frequently after a storm.

Work is underway on Clay Street and will last at least three months.

The cost is about $566,000.
