Valentine's gift bags being compiled for homebound
Sunday school students from St. Juan Diego Parish already are gearing up for Valentine’s Day, planning to shower love on homebound members of the congregation.
Students are hosting a collection of well-being items to fill gift bags that will be delivered in early February. Items sought are tea bags, cocoa mix, mints, lotion, tissues and chap stick.
They also are looking for greeting cards, postage stamps, pens and pencils, puzzle books, jumbo playing cards, magnifying glasses and bookmarks.
Anyone interested in donating can deliver items to the red gift boxes in the vestibules at St. Joe’s in O’Hara, St. Scholastica in Aspinwall, St. Edward in Blawnox or the St. Juan Diego office in Sharpsburg.
Students will gather Jan. 27 in the John Paul I Center in Sharpsburg to stuff Valentine gift bags prior to an 11:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s.
