Water main break shuts down part of Squaw Run Road in Fox Chapel

Fox Chapel Authority employees work to fix a water main break along Squaw Run Road on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019.

A stretch of Squaw Run Road in Fox Chapel is closed because of a water main break.

The road was shut down shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday after a 12-inch line erupted, causing part of one lane to collapse, according to authorities.

The break occurred near the intersection of Guyasuta Road and is expected to take until midnight to repair.

Six homes lost water service as a result of the break, according the Fox Chapel Authority, which is responsible for the lines.
