A Pittsburgh medic unit was struck by two rounds of gunfire Wednesday evening in the city’s Manchester neighborhood.

No one was inside the vehicle at the time.

Pittsburgh police responded just before 6:20 p.m. to a Shotspotter alert indicating two shots were fired in the 1100 block of Bidwell Street.

The vehicle, parked around the corner on Sheffield Street, was assigned to two emergency medical technicians. They told police they were answering a call in an apartment building when they heard gunshots outside.

An investigation is continuing.
