A carnival atmosphere prevailed at Hampton’s Talbot Tailgate, held Friday afternoon in the middle school parking lot prior to the Homecoming football game across the street at Fridley Field.

The lot was filled with booths featuring food, activities and opportunities to meet folks from throughout the community.

One of the more popular booths offered chances to dunk a Tiger mascot, representing football opponent McKeesport Area. Intermittent rain made the day kind of damp to begin with, but the person sitting and waiting for balls to hit the target took it to a whole other level.

As for the game, itself, let’s just say that the Talbots gave it their all against a tough bunch of Tigers. Dunking a mascot goes only so far.
