Hampton Community Library congratulates its “Soup”er Bowl contest winners:

Champion Costakis Copeland for his chicken and corn chowder; runner-up John Parrish III, Nana’s Italian wedding soup; and fan favorite Max Hardman, Garlic Express.

The library announces programs to help welcome spring:

• It’s A Wonderful World: Drop-in Storytime, 10: 30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting March 14.

All ages and abilities are welcome. Scheduled are stories and songs at 10:30, Investigate & Create at 10:45, stories and songs at 11, parachute play at 11:30, stories and songs at 11:50, and Stay and Play at noon.

• News & Views, 1 p.m. March 3, discussion group led by local author and journalist Gerry K. Smith.

The group has a new format inviting members to participate as guest leaders. Topics for discussion are welcomed.

• Card Club, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Participants are welcome to join a game of 500 Bid, teach someone a new game or just enjoy time with friends, new and old.

• Murder by the Book mystery discussion, 6:30 p.m. March 15, with “The Plot” by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The group meets inside the library.

• Betty’s Book Buzz discussion group, 1 p.m. March 17, with “Blessings by” Anna Quidlen. The group meets inside the library.

• Cooks-N-Books: Meatless Wonders, 6:30-8:00 p.m. March 23 in Great Room A of the Hampton Community Center.

Participants are invited to check out a cookbook from the library, prepare a dish and bring it along with a copy of the recipe for the group to sample. There is a $2 fee to cover the cost of supplies.

• Hampton Community Library Trivia Night is March 24 in Great Rooms A&B of the community center. Doors open at 6:30. Trivia begins at 7, and the program ends by 9:30.

Registration is required. Space is limited. No walk-ins are allowed. The cost is $20 per person, with six to 10 people. The event is for adults, BYOB.

• “Don’t Get Scammed,” 11 a.m. March 30 in the community center’s Great Rooms.

Joe Giuffre Sr., justice advocate for Allegheny County District Attorney’s office, discusses how to avoid scams to protect yourself. No registration is necessary.

• Girls’ Night Out: Cardmaking and More, 6:30 to 8:30 April 4. Join Cindy Brumbaugh of Stampin’ Up to create three cards of your choice.

Snacks and prizes will be provided, and BYOB. Cost is $15, and registration is necessary.
