Waste Management will begin collecting garbage and recycling on Wednesdays from Etna residents.

Etna residents - mark your calendars.

The borough’s garbage collector, Waste Management, is making a change to the hauling schedule.

Beginning June 26, garbage and recycling will be picked up on Wednesdays.

This is a change from the traditional Friday collection.

“While we understand this may be an inconvenience initially, we feel this is a good move,” Manager Mary Ellen Ramage said.

Missed pickups will no longer have to wait through the weekend until Monday, the next business day, she said.

Ramage asked for patience from residents during the scheduling change.
