An 83-year-old man was found dead after breaking into a house in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood Saturday morning, according to Pittsburgh police.

Officers went to the 7200 block of Hilliards Street around 8 a.m.

According to police, a homeowner called 911 and reported that a man broke into his home around 2 a.m., and he stabbed the alleged intruder.

Officers found the man dead.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the man as Lester Bridges.

The homeowner was taken to police headquarters for questioning.

On Sunday, TribLive news partner WTAE reported that Bridges was in the early stages of dementia and had been reported missing on Friday. Bridges was reported missing after he left a home on Hilliards Street to repair his truck, but walked away.
