Soup’s on

Hampton Presbyterian Church’s annual tradition is back. On Nov. 28 at 5 p.m., HPC prepares for the coming of the Christ child with the Advent Soup Supper held on the first day of Advent each year.

Guests are asked to bring a slow cooker of soup and two dozen cookies to share. Some bring a muffin tin to try many of the soups at one time. A time of worship and the lighting of the Advent Wreath launches the Advent Season. Devotional booklets will be available.

The church is located at 2942 East Hardies Road in Gibsonia. Call the church office at 724-443-3201, for details or questions. More information and other videoed services can be accessed through the HPC website, hamptonpresbyterian.net, or the church’s YouTube account.

Employee of the year

Laura Moorey of Allison Park was honored as an employee of the year at Pressley Ridge, a nonprofit organization that provides families with hope and support through life’s challenges.

Of the nearly 1,100 employees across the organization, 20 were celebrated in a virtual reception Nov. 4 hosted by Susanne Cole, president and CEO of Pressley Ridge. Moorey is a supervisor in the family-based mental health program and has worked at Pressley Ridge for 20 years.
