Christmas can be a difficult time of year for people; especially for those grieving, those who are lonely or longing for something better.

The Blue Christmas/Longest Night Service usually happens on or around Dec. 21, the winter solstice, which has the longest night and shortest day. Join in for a quiet and contemplative service of Holy Communion 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4517 Mt. Royal Boulevard in Allison Park.

An evening of Christmas family fun is set Dec. 12 at Nativity Lutheran Church.

Beginning at 4 p.m., decorate Christmas cookies, soup will be served at 5, followed by cupcakes celebrating Jesus’ birthday. The evening concludes with a family-friendly holiday movie beginning at 6 p.m.

Join for some or all of the events. There will be a free will offering collected. Call 412-487-1071 or email the church office at info@nativitylutheranchurch15101.org to sign up by Dec. 10.
