CV graduation set for May 31

Commencement for the Chartiers Valley High School Class of 2023 will take place at 7 p.m. May 31 at the high school stadium.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside. There are no alternative dates or times.

All seniors will receive eight tickets for commencement. Extra tickets cannot be provided. This ensures all ticket holders can have access to the ceremony, regardless if it’s indoors or outside.

Tickets will be distributed to seniors at rehearsal on May 30 from 8 to 11 a.m.

Help replace banners

Bridgeville Borough Parking Authority and Bridgeville American Legion Post 54 worked together to form the Military Banner Program.

The program allows families to honor their current members of the military and military veterans by making and placing banners throughout the borough.

The banners are not made to last forever. Many of them are in dire need of replacement due to normal wear and tear from being out in the elements.

Residents and members of the business community are asked for donations to help pay for a portion of the cost for replacement banners, with checks payable to “Bridgeville Borough” and noting “Military Banner” in the memo line. Mail or deliver donations to Bridgeville Parking Authority, 304 Hickman St., Bridgeville, Pa. 15017.

Troop banners are on display from Memorial Day through Veterans Day throughout the borough and at troopbanners.com/bridgeville.

The Bridgeville Memorial Day parade is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. May 29 and proceed from the American Legion Post, 325 Station St., to Melrose Cemetery, 3064 Washington Pike.

Collier’s Memorial Day ceremony is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 29 by the Veterans Monument at the township building, 2418 Hilltop Road.
