Call 911 for emergencies

Bethel Park residents in need of assistance for medical emergencies now should call 911 instead of the Bethel Park Dispatch Center.

Allegheny County’s 911 Center will take all emergency medical calls for the Tri-Community South EMS municipalities, which also include South Park, Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair.

For all other emergencies, including fire and police service, and non-emergency services, residents should call the Bethel Park Dispatch Center at 412-833-2000.

Information about Tri-Community South EMS is available at www.tcsems.org.

64th annual coin show

The South Hills Coin Club will hold its 64th annual coin show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Crowne Plaza Suites Pittsburgh South, 164 Fort Couch Road, Bethel Park.

There will be 20 plus dealers buying gold and silver coins, and currency. For more information, call 724-984-66111.

Winter market at community center

The Bethel Park Winter Market continues on Jan. 23 and wraps up Feb. 27.

The market is held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave., and features many of the regular vendors at the spring-summer farmers’ market.

Lee opens Bethel Park office

U.S. Rep. Summer Lee, D-Swissvale, opened a satellite office at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave.

Her staff members will be on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of each month to assist with issues such as passports, Social Security, Medicare, veterans’ benefits and matters involving the Internal Revenue Service.

DivorceCare program offered

South Hills Church of the Nazarene, 5601 Library Road, Bethel Park is offering DivorceCare.

The Winter 2024 Session will be held in the fellowship hall each Thursday at 7 p.m. from Jan. 25 through April 25. All meetings are offered in person and online through GoogleMeet.

Allegheny Land Trust programs

The Bethel Park Historical Society is supporting an event series with Allegheny Land Trust to benefit Bethel Park residents. Programs are at the historical society headquarters, 2600 South Park Road, except where indicated:

• Better for Bees, 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Feb. 12

• Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers, 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12

• Owl Pellets, 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. March 11

• Common Mushrooms of the Yard and Garden, 6 to 7 p.m. March 11

Work proceeds on water lines

Pennsylvania American Water Company is scheduled to replace a water line along Overhill Street in Bethel Park, with work expected to last through mid-February.

Water company subcontractor Alex Parris Construction also will be replacing the water line on Rolling Green Road, with work expected to last until early April.

Flaggers will be on hand for both projects to assist with traffic.
