This year’s donations will go to the Sunrise School for special education services in Monroeville, the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh in Shadyside and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Donations will be accepted through Dec. 14 at the police building lobby, municipal building and community center. Drop off unwrapped toys during regular business hours.

Elf on the Shelf search

Happy the Elf will be at the Hampton Community Center for the holiday season.

The character will hide in different places in the center through Dec. 22.

Elf on the Shelf search papers are available at the community center service desk beginning Nov. 27. The dates that Happy will be changing his hiding spot are noted on the search paper.

After you have found Happy, the community center desk staff will stamp your search paper. Be sure to keep your paper for each visit to the center and collect all four stamps. Participants who collect every one of them will be entered to win a prize.

Please turn in your completed search paper to the service desk by Dec. 22. Winners will be contacted on Jan. 3. The Elf on the Shelf Search is designed for young children, but participants of all ages who are young at heart are welcome to participate.
