Hampton Heroes honors veterans
Local veterans will be honored during the annual Hampton Heroes program at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at the school district’s Fridley Field.
Residents of Hampton, veterans who work in the township and graduates of Hampton High School are eligible for induction. About 200 men and women have been inducted.
Night at the Races
The Hampton ice hockey has teamed up with Hampton golf to sponsor a fun evening of food, raffles and racing.
A Night at the Races is scheduled for Nov. 11 at the North Hampton Volunteer Fire Hall, 5149 N. Pioneer Road, Hampton. The cost is $35 per person, which includes buffet dinner, water, soft drinks and beer.
The event is for guests 21 and older only. BYOB.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. The deadline is Nov. 3.

County offers skate rink passes
Winter season passes for county facilities are available for purchase.
A skate rink season pass, which provides the holder access to any public session but does not include rental equipment, costs $50 for Allegheny County residents ages 18 to 59 and $63 for nonresidents. For residents 60 and older, the cost is $25, and for nonresidents, $31.
Season passes are not available for those under 18. Regular daily admission would apply $5 for residents and $6 for nonresidents.
The North Park ice rink at 1101 Pearce Mill Road will be open mid-November through mid-March, weather and conditions permitting. Visit www.alleghenycounty.us/parks/north-park/index.aspx.
Sealarks group meets
Sealarks Women’s Group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless.
The program is “Pittsburgh Makes Merry: Guilded Age Holiday Traditions,” by Sue Morris.
The group provides Christian fellowship and social activity for women alone. All women alone are welcome to attend and consider joining the group. Meetings are free for members and $2 for guests.
