In brief: Road to close in Plum
Part of Ross Hollow Road to close Oct. 22-25
Ross Hollow Road between Harris Road and Rustic Drive in Plum Borough will close fully at 5 p.m. Oct. 22. The closure, which is part of an ongoing bridge replacement project, is expected to end during the morning of Oct. 25.
According to the Allegheny County Department of Public Works, it is needed for backfilling and removal of temporary shoring.
During the full closure, traffic will be detoured using New Texas Road and Old Leechburg Road.
When the full closure ends, Ross Hollow Road will return to single-lane traffic as before. Traffic again will be controlled using temporary stop signs until the end of the project, and drivers can expect to experience short stoppages near the work zone.
As part of the project, Stotler Road was closed between Ross Hollow Road and Old Leechburg Road on Aug. 23, and it is expected to remain closed until November. Traffic for that road is being detoured using Old Leechburg Road and Ross Hollow Road.
Residents on Stotler Road and Ross Hollow Road will have access to their homes throughout the project.
The $607,777 project, which is being done by Pugliano Construction Co. Inc. of Pittsburgh, involves replacement of Plum Creek Bridge No. 6, including new pavement, drainage, guide rail and pavement markings.
