A new book titled “West View Park: The Story of the T.M. Harton Company” chronicles the life of Theodore Marshall Harton II, who opened West View Park in 1906 and was a pioneer in the amusement park industry.

A special presentation about the old West View Park will be given at the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center on 830 Aufman Lane at 7 p.m. June 14.

Mike Funyak, author of the new book “West View Park: The Story of the T.M. Harton Company,” will discuss his book and the history of the late, great amusement park.

North Allegheny School District’s Kennywood Day is on Sunday, Aug. 14.

Discounted tickets can be purchased online at www.kennywood.com/NA or stop in the Athletic Office located in the North Allegheny Senior High School, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
