Longvue Acres Garden Club’s March 28 program will be “Trees, Pests, and Diseases” presented by Penn State Master Gardener Dianne Machesney.
From borers, scale, and beetles to cankers, wilts, scab, and rots, the program will be explore the most common tree pests and diseases. Participants will learn how to make a diagnosis and when to call in the professionals.
The meeting will be 7:30 p.m., March 28 at Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway, McCandless.

Fitness, fun and food will fill historic downtown Harmony on March 25, during the 14th annual Shamrock Shuffle.
The combination of races, food and entertainment is the premier annual fundraiser for the Zelienople Rotary Club. With Armstrong and The Harmony Inn as co-title sponsors, the Zelienople Rotary Club will again partner with Get Fit Families to host the Shamrock Shuffle.
The day begins with a challenging half-marathon that starts at 7:30 a.m. It is one of the toughest half marathons in the tri-state area with a big climb about 6 miles into the race.
A family friendly 5k begins at 10:15 a.m. and a 1-mile fun run starts at 11 a.m.
Festivities include food and music. All proceeds benefit the Zelienople Rotary Club and its service projects.

AARP Chapter 595 welcomes new members and guests to its meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. at Hampton Presbyterian Church. 2842 E. Hardies Road.
The meetings provide great fellowship, luncheons, entertainment and trips.

The Bradford Woods Conservancy is hosting an Earth Day Celebration at the Reserve in Bradford Woods on April 22 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
Activities for adults and children are:
10-11 a.m. — activity tables. Light refreshments will be provided.
11 a.m. to noon — Herpetologist April Claus will present a hands-on, interactive talk about amphibians and reptiles that are in our backyards. Bring a chair for the presentation. After the program, participants can hike around the nearby pond and try to catch some critters. Bring boots, nets and small plastic containers.
Noon to 2 p.m. — free picnic lunch and activity.
