Marshall hazardous waste collection

Marshall Township will host a household hazardous waste collection for residents July 22 at 465 Knob Road.

The collection will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Accepted chemicals include paint/workshop products, automotive products, cleaning products, lawn and garden products, pesticides, every type of battery, every type of light bulb/tube, flammables and pool chemical and mostly any other chemical found under your sink or in your garage.

Residents must register for the event at nobleenviro.com or by calling 412-567-6566.

Ticket discounts

The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society through Franklin Park Borough will be offering residents discounted tickets to the Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild parks.

Tickets can be purchased using cash, check or credit card at the Franklin Park Borough Municipal Building.

Anyone with questions about purchasing tickets or their availability can call 412-364-4115.

Yoga in the Park

McCandless is offering Yoga in the Park at Devlin Pavilion behind McCandless Town Hall every Saturday through Sept. 2 at 9 a.m.

Participants should bring a yoga mat or heavy towel or small rug and water and dress casually.

The event is free and open to all levels and all ages. A donation suggested.

Hidden gems

Pine Creek Land Conservation Trust, North Area Environmental Council and Friends of North Park are hosting an event at 7:30 p.m. June 27 at the Rose Barn in North Park.

Park Ranger Samuel Shephard will present information and photos on the Hidden Gems of North Park. The event is free and open to the public.
