The McCandless Treasures in the Trunk Sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the McCandless-Northern Allegheny Heritage and Cultural Center parking lot on Aufman Lane off Grubbs Road.

The event is free to shoppers. The cost is $10 for those who wish to participate as a seller, cash or check only.

Registration is required due to limited spaces. Contact Christine Shipley at aac@townofmccandless.org to reserve a space.

The event had been schedule for May 20 but was moved to June 10 due to poor weather.

McCandless no longer makes its meetings available via Zoom. Town public meetings will continue to be held in-person.

The meetings will continue to be recorded and posted on the Town’s YouTube channel. Additionally, the Town Council meetings are broadcast on NATV the Wednesday after the meeting at 7:30 p.m.

NATV can be found on Comcast Channel 98, Armstrong Channel 210, Verizon Channel 33 and Consolidated Channel 406.

Meeting agendas are posted to the Town’s website at www.townofmccandless.org at least 24 hours in advance of each meeting.

The Association of University People invites singles 50-plus, who are four-year college graduates, to join them for activities and to meet new people. Activities include monthly dinners, social gatherings, concerts and day trips. Those interested can attend three activities as guests before joining.

The 100th annual Slovak Day at Kennywood Park is scheduled for July 20.

Highlights include food, shopping from vendors, an anniversary party and a Slovak Mass celebrated by bishops David Zubik and Bishop Larry Kulick.

There will also be performances by PAS and Pittsburgh Slovakians
