VFD Open House

Reserve Volunteer Fire Department will hold an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at its station on 33 Lonsdale St. to kick off Fire Prevention Week. Attendees will be able to meet firefighters, watch demonstrations, participate in fire safety and prevention activities and learn more about becoming a volunteer firefighter. Fall Fest

Shaler Township will hold its Fall Fest at Kiwanis Park from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 2. Enjoy bounce houses, games, a hay maze, crafts, make your own s’mores or decorate a pumpkin. Hot dogs, drinks and other treats will be available.

E-waste collection

Pennsylvania Resources Council will conduct pop-up e-waste collection events on Tuesdays and Thursdays in October at Michael Brothers Hauling & Recycling, 408 Hoffman Road in Reserve. The events will run noon-3 p.m. Oct. 5 and 12; and 2-5 p.m. Oct. 7 and 14. Participants must register in advance at www.prc.org/PopUpEwaste or by calling 412-488-7490 ext. 1.

Women’s Business Network

Women’s Business Network is part networking group, part mastermind group and part educational resource. Guests are welcome to attend a meeting at no cost. To learn more, visit www.wbninc.com.
