Richland leaf pickup dates

Richland has set the schedule for its fall leaf pickups. If your Vogel collection day is Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, your leaf collections will be on Oct. 20, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1. If your Vogel collection day is Thursday or Friday, your leaf collections will be on Oct. 22, Nov. 12 and Dec. 3.

The leaf collections are provided to reduce the impact of leaves on the municipal stormwater system, streams and wetlands.

All leaves, garden residue and cuttings must be in biodegradable paper bags and must be out before 6 a.m. on the pickup day.

Bags should be no more than 40 pounds. Tree trimmings — no larger than 3 inches in diameter and smaller than 48 inches in length — must be tied/bound into manageable bundles.

St. Barnabas expands radio network

St. Barnabas Broadcasting has entered into an agreement to acquire WBVP-AM/FM and WMBA-AM/FM, owned by Sound Ideas Media, LLC. The joint agreement was entered into by William V. Day, President of St. Barnabas Health System, and Mark Peterson, President of Sound Ideas Media, LLC.

Peterson will remain with the organization and all employees have been retained.

The contract to acquire WBVP and WMBA allows St. Barnabas Broadcasting to augment its current radio network. St. Barnabas Broadcasting acquired WJAS-AM/FM in November 2020.

WBVP (1230-AM and 99.3-FM) Beaver Falls and WMBA (1460-AM and 95.7-FM) Ambridge are based in Beaver County. The stations simulcast a news/talk radio format. WJAS (1320-AM and 99.1-FM) is a talk radio station featuring conservative talk radio hosts such as Bloomdaddy, Glenn Beck, Dan Bongino, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Jimmy Failla.

St. Barnabas Broadcasting is a subsidiary of the St. Barnabas Health System, a charitable, nonprofit organization founded in 1900, with facilities in Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties.

Rescheduled car show

A mid-summer favorite event delayed by torrential rain will cruise into North Boundary Park in Cranberry on Sept. 18.

The rescheduled 12th Annual Cruisin’ Cranberry car show is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Waterpark parking lot in North Boundary Park. The event will feature classic cars, food vendors and more.

The event is normally held during Cranberry’s Community Days in July.

Touch-a-Truck event

The Pine Community Center will be hosting a Touch-a-Truck event from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the community center parking lot. Touch-a-Truck is a chance for kids to get up close to some big trucks.

The trucks will include a firetruck, tow truck, bucket truck and more. Kids also will have the opportunity to paint the township’s snow plow so it’s colorful before winter.

There will be a bounce house and food vendors, such as The Rolling Meatballs Food truck and Shannon Sweet Stop ice cream cart. For more information, visit the Pine Community Center’s website.
