art guild meeting

The Bethel Park Art Guild will hold its October meeting at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Bethel Park Community Center. The guest speaker for this month is Yelena Lamm, a Russian-born artist – and that’s where she received her fine art education. She moved to Pittsburgh in 1995 where she expanded her art education to graphic arts and design.

She received her degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She never stopped painting while she studied graphic design. She continues to paint, exhibit, compete and win awards to this date. Her works, figurative or still life, are where it is her goal, to bring beauty, from the beauty she sees in what surrounds us.

Artists of all levels are welcome.

A luncheon for seniors 90 and older and their caregivers is planned for 11 a.m. Oct 8 at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave.

All proceeds benefit South Park Women’s Club’s ongoing community activities and three scholarship funds.

• The guest speaker for South Park Women’s Club’s Oct. 18 meeting will be Lorraine Mszanski, executive director of South Park Theater.
