Women’s Business Network

Depreciation Lands Museum

Lantern Tours are set for 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 16 and Oct. 23 at the Depreciation Lands Museum featuring “Mostly True Tales from Old Talley Cavey.”

A walking tour through the cemetery and Talley Cavey Village will be conducted by lantern light. Prepaid timed tickets are required. Order them online at dlmuseum.org.

Pumpkins for sale

The annual Pumpkin Fest and Flea Market is set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Ascension Lutheran Church on Peebles Road.

Freshly baked apple and pumpkin pies will be for sale as well as hot dogs, ham barbecues and other treats.

Veterans Day 5k

The 16th annual Operation Troop Appreciation Veterans Day 5K run/walk will take place Nov. 7 in Hampton Community Park.

Trophies and prizes are awarded to the first-place man and woman from the overall field as well as the Masters category. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers (male and female) in each of 13 age groups. There is also a wide assortment of creative and unique door prizes.

Funds from the race are used to provide care packages to active duty troops.

Farmers market

The Hampton Township Farmers Market operates from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 13.

It features local produce, honey, baked goods, spices and a variety of other items.

Food trucks will be on site several times during the season, with notices posted on the township website.

The farmers market is in Hampton Community Park, 3101 McCully Road.
