The Food Podcast has a new host.

Starting the week of April 26, Krista Johnson will take the lead on the podcast as the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s newest Communications and Public Relations Specialist.

“I’ve worked with food banks in the past and more importantly, I’ve met people who have used the resources provided by food banks in the past,” Johnson said.

Johnson said she feels fortunate to be able to talk to people who work and volunteer for the food bank as well as individuals and families who visit food pantries and other food bank agencies.

“It’s so encouraging to get to tell these stories and be part of the solution and see how it changes people’s lives,” Johnson said.

In her first few weeks with the food bank, Johnson has been able to learn about many of the organization’s programs. She is excited to share more of this with the community through the Food Podcast, the food bank’s social media and blog.

“Being able to spread the word about all of these nuggets of information about the food bank that people might not know about or resources that people might not know about, that’s what I’m most excited for,” she said.
