Latest covid-19 numbers for Hampton, McCandless as of Dec. 16

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the communities within the Hampton Journal area have varying numbers of both positive cases and deaths.

As of Dec. 16, there have been 637 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Hampton since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. That number is an increase of 135 cases in 8 days. The borough has reported nine deaths, including three in the past week. A total of 4,301 residents have been tested. Hampton’s case rate is 347 per 10,000 residents.

Since the pandemic began, McCandless has had 822 cases, including 135 cases reported since Dec. 8, and 27 deaths. McCandless has had 6,785 individuals tested and has a case rate of 289 per 10,000 residents.
