A march and balloon release for parents who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant will be held Oct. 19 in Pittsburgh to honor those young lives.

Maddie’s March & Balloon Release will be held at the West End Overlook Park. Participants should meet at 10:30 a.m. off Marlow Street. The march will start at 11.

The event is being organized by Jenea Edwards, who experienced the loss of her daughter, Madison,S after a six-month pregnancy. She runs a support group, Maddie’s GEMs to help other parents, and holds the march and balloon release annually in October, which is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

Participants are being asked to bring balloons which will be released following the march. Proceeds from a free will donation will go toward programming for Maddie’s GEMs.
