Pittsburgh police arrested a man Saturday whose dog was found to have stab wounds on its neck.

At around 4 p.m., police responded to complaints of blood in the hallway of an apartment building on Reifert Street in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Officers later found the male suspect, later identified as Trendon Mobley, 38, of Knoxville, and his wounded dog at a nearby McDonald’s.

Mobley was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and false identification to law enforcement. He is currently at Allegheny County Jail, said Cara Cruz, a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety.

Animal Care and Control took the dog and transported it to receive emergency veterinary care.
