A Pittsburgh man is accused of intentionally hitting a man with his car in Mt. Oliver on Wednesday night, shortly after a shooting that left two bullet holes in the car.

It’s unclear if the shooting and the alleged vehicular assault are related, said Mt. Oliver Police Chief Matt Juzwick.

Police received reports about the shooting on Louisa Street Wednesday night, but they found no suspects or victims when they arrived at the scene, just shell casings on the ground, Juzwick said.

Soon after, around 11:40 p.m., police were called about a fight at the Sunoco gas station on Brownsville Road, less than half-mile from Louisa Street.

Juzwick said Raymond Booth, 53, was fighting with another man before he got into his car and deliberately backed into the victim.

The man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and released Thursday morning, Juzwick said.

Booth fled the scene, but soon turned himself in, according to Juzwick.

Officers found two bullet holes in his car. Booth told them he had been the target of the Louisa Street shooting, Juzwick said.

Booth is charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while operating privileges are suspended and several related summary offenses.

A preliminary hearing before District Judge Richard G. King is scheduled for Oct. 14.

Booth was charged with driving with a suspended license twice this summer, once in July and once this month, according to court records. Those charges are pending.
