A man was killed Friday night after being shot multiple times in Homewood, authorities said.

Pittsburgh police said they responded to the 7400 block of Race Street in the East End neighborhood about 9:30 p.m after receiving a 12-round alert from the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system.

They found a man on the sidewalk and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. First responders attempted life-saving measures but the man died at the scene.

No arrests have been announced.

On Oct. 24, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Gregory Prince, 38, of Homewood West.

Police said they’re continuing to investigate and have collected shell casings and video footage from nearby cameras.
