Arrest made in fatal shooting on Neville Island
A Pittsburgh man is accused of breaking into a Neville Island apartment late Thursday and fatally shooting a man inside, according to court papers.
Dwight Baker, 46, of the city’s Upper Hill District, is charged with homicide, burglary and related offenses in connection with the death of Ryan Dunnaway, whose age was not listed in police paperwork.
Ohio Township police were called to the Grand Avenue apartment at 7:30 p.m. and found Dunnaway dead inside. He had been shot five times, police said.
A witness told investigators that Baker broke into the apartment and refused to leave.
“Baker started scolding (the witness) about who Dunnaway was and how (the witness) threw everything away for Dunnaway,” investigators wrote in court papers.
Police said Baker shot Dunnaway as the witness ran outside, police said. Allegheny County Police arrested Baker early Friday.
Court records indicate Baker is awaiting arraignment. Baker did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
